CLUB'S HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHTS
1926 - 2004
*1930's Provided milk for school children during
the depression.
*1946 Built Englewood's first public swimming
pool for local children to prevent any further
drownings in the Platte River.
*1960 Purchased a miniature train, built the
tracks, and began operating it for the enjoyment
children.
*1968 Erected a petting zoo for children.
*1985 Club members organized an effort that
resulted in the building of the Englewood Rec
center and the Englewood Golf Course.
*1991 Established the Englewood Lions Foundation
which distributes the funds raised and donated
to worthy groups and organizations. (Average
$50,000 a year).
*1999 Created the Handi-Lions program though
which members help seniors with yard work and
minor repairs.
*1999 Organized a Leo Club for young people.
Members participate in community service.
*2001 Established an Endowment Fund to provide
earnings which will be distributed to charities
for generations to come!
